Anthropology Professor, Dr. Julia Hammett, was recognized as TMCC-NFA's 2025 Legacy Award at the year-end ceremony on May 9th. Serving in virtually every capacity in NFA since her arrival at TMCC three decades ago, Julia Hammett has been a driving force of both the TMCC Chapter and the NFA State Board. She's led TMCC-NFA through many difficult and challenging years, negotiating multiple contracts and defending faculty rights at every level. Prior to 2024-25, Julia was still serving as an officer of the TMCC-NFA Chapter and did not qualify for the Legacy Award. She was the unanimous choice once she stepped down from her many years as an officer.
