Join TMCC-NFA Today!

Membership in your union – TMCC-NFA – helps ensure continued advocacy on behalf of faculty at Truckee Meadows Community College. Join with your colleagues to protect academic freedom, faculty rights and benefits, safe workplaces, effective student learning, and fight for racial and social justice.

Monthly dues are affordable:

  • $24 for tenure-track, zero-rank, and Range C or lower administrative faculty
  • $34 for tenured professors and Range D or higher administrative faculty

Who Can Join

Anyone who is employed as academic or administrative faculty with at least a 0.5 FTE contract is eligible for membership. This includes, but is not limited to, teaching faculty, department chairs, professional library faculty, counselors, and any professionals who do not supervise other eligible employees, manage confidential information, or report directly to college leadership.

All full-time TMCC faculty employees who meet the eligibility requirements are represented in the TMCC-NFA collective bargaining unit. Dues-paying members, however, have the additional rights of providing input to the collective bargaining process and voting privileges on contract ratification.

Workplace Support

Membership in TMCC-NFA shows that you care for your profession, your colleagues, and your students. The TMCC-NFA contract guarantees that professional employees have appropriate support and representation in workplace issues. TMCC-NFA members have the additional benefits of legal guidance for workplace disputes and access to a legal defense fund based on a case's merits and circumstances.

Your membership also gives you the ability to engage with NFA representatives who are registered lobbyists at the Nevada Legislature. They are the only individuals directly advocating on behalf of higher education professionals at all levels of government.
